I hope you agree with me that our nation is at a very critical point in history.  The sad truth is that the influence of Christian values in our culture is on a decline.

We must change the direction of our culture! Jesus Himself admonished us to be the “salt and light” to the world. For too long the church has turned and looked the other way as our values, principles and beliefs have been mocked and marginalized. I believe that people of faith still constitute a majority in our nation. The problem is that they don’t believe that their vote counts, and thus do not participate in the public policy process.

Will you help?

It is incumbent upon us to engage our culture.  For this reason, we have created Winning Matters 2009.

We realize that only through prayer and heart change will we ever see lasting change in our state. As such, we are recruiting Virginians who will commit to daily prayer for our state and our nation.

The Family Foundation Action will provide copies of the 2008-2009 General Assembly Report Cards to churches and other groups to inform them of how their state representatives voted on key issues that strengthen the family and are consistent with a conservative biblical worldview.   

In addition, we will provide materials and advice on how to coordinate non-partisan voter registration in your church.   Closer to the upcoming election, we will provide voter guides that educate voters on where the candidates stand on the various issues related to the family.

What are General Assembly Report Cards?

Report Cards are a multi-page document that shows the 2008/2009 voting record of all 40 Virginia Senators and 100 members of the House of Delegates on issues that are important to the family.  We are currently distributing these in churches throughout the state.  They are also be available on our website as a PDF document that can be downloaded and printed.

What are Voter Guides?

Voter Guides are one-page flyers that will be distributed in October 2009 that will educate constitents concerning candidates for office and their position on important values issues.  They are sized to fit into many church bulletins.  Distribution of our non-partisan voter guides in churches is perfectly legal.

How will The Family Foundation Action help my church with voter registration?

If you provide a contact name and email, we will show that person a step-by-step procedure on how to conduct a voter registration drive in your church.  Upon your approval, we will mail a packet of information that will contain everything needed to conduct a successful voter registration drive.
