Roger Pogge, Project Manager

Roger Pogge has been involved in the public policy process for many years, starting with the pro-life cause during the early '80s.  He served as the 1st Congressional District Republican Chairman from 1998-2002.  One of his goals during that period was to elect a pro-life candidate to Congress when then Rep. Herb Bateman retired.  He was successful in helping to elect Jo Ann Davis to that seat in 2000.

In 2002, Roger and his wife Brenda led the successful kNOw Campaign in the Hampton Roads area in opposition to the local sales tax increase and unelected regional government.  More recently, Roger led the winning Marriage Amendment campaign, va4marriage.org in 2006.

Roger and his wife Brenda have been married for 34 years and have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.

Vanessa Strait, Administrative Assistant

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and moved out to Virginia after I graduated High School.  I’ve been here in VA for almost 14 years and can truly call this home.

After graduating from college and before coming to work at The Family Foundation I worked at a church in various positions as a Youth Pastor’s Administrative Assistant and as The Urban Missions Coordinator.   Looking back I see the Lord has equipped me in so many areas of Ministry, which has further prepared me for this job here at The Family Foundation.

In my spare time I enjoy Latin American culture, including, mission’s trips to Costa Rica, teaching an English as a Second Language class here in Richmond (ESL), and helping teach a Conversational Spanish Class as well.

I am learning a lot here at The Family Foundation and am excited to see what the Lord has in store for the future and my journey.
